YOU/NEW PILLARS BANNERS VALUES DREAMS TAGS
Dreamline’s approach to declaring and sharing our dreams has reached students in more than 37 countries and 42 states of the US.
WHAT’S TRUE OF DREAMLINE BANNERS EVERYWHERE?
DREAM BANNERS SHARE DREAMS WITH THE WORLD AND…
I. EQUITY – same size
Look at the image below. Which banner is the largest? Which is the smallest?
We believe each person’s dream deserves the same space. All Dream Banners are 9 in wide or 23 cm wide and 12 in tall or 30 cm tall.
II. VOICE – original words and art
Look at this Dream Banner by a middle school student in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. What is the dream?
Now listen to this dream from a 5th grader in Philadelphia, USA.
Many students share common dreams, but each Dreamline Banner is unique. We believe each of us has something unique and valuable to contribute so we don’t allow quotes–no matter how great they are–or cutting and pasting other people’s art work–no matter how inspiring. Each person shares their dream in their own VOICE.
III. COLLABORATION – connected to a line and online
TO MOVE in the direction of our dreams we have to be connected–to express our dreams, inspire others, and build community.
- That’s why all physical Dream Banners are connected to a Dreamline.
- That’s why it’s a GROUP project for classes or other groups.
- And that’s why we have the Dreamline World mobile app that creates a digital Dreamline around the world.
These things remind us that our dreams become powerful only when they connect with others’.
If you have time, watch this 4-minute video about where the public Dreamline idea came from–near the highest mountains in the world.
