Not Only from Olney
Dreams from Around the World

Digitally interactive works on fabric expressing dreams from Olney Charter High School, Veracruz Mexico, and other sites around the world.

120 digitally interactive students works on fabric expressing dreams to share with the world by students at Olney Charter High School under the direction of artist Joy Waldinger  are on exhibit at Metropolitan Gallery 250 from Sunday February 9th to Sunday March 1st.

Also included will be similar student works recently created by rural university students in the Veracruz region of Mexico along with others from students in Haiti, Zambia, China, and other locations around the US.

Visitors can experience the “Fabric of Dreams,” surrounded by hundreds of images on cloth with text expressing visions of change and hopes for the future. Process exhibits show how young artists at Olney Charter High School created their work. Digital interaction allows visitors to us their phones to hear the voice of students speaking their dreams and to see maps of each work’s place of origin.

All student work has been created through participation in  dreamline.org, a program of the Philadelphia based nonprofit Cloud Cloth Education. Dreamline invites students to share their dreams with the world through art, words, technology, and community action.

Not Only from Olney is produced by Dreamline and Metropolitan Gallery 250.

Metropolitan Gallery 250 is a nonprofit arts space, owned by Metropolitan Bakery, that seeks to provide exposure for emerging artists and local arts programming.
