We are thrilled to report to the Dreamline community far and wide that the space and time we held together on June 9th was replete with wonder, hope, excitement, nerves, and joy! Wilth more than 500 in attendance, wonderful participation from our student dreamline families and friends, and inspiring words from teachers, school administration, and global equity pioneer Kim Macharia, it exceeded our expectations. Most important of all were the voices of students speaking their dreams and connecting to one another – from the Dream Stage where representative students read their Dream Banners, and from the more than 1,000 Dreamline Banners on display in an installation that filled the expansive space of Cherry Street Pier.

We are grateful to the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, for making the space availalble to us, and to Penn Treaty Special Services District, who supported the majority of our curriculum programming in School District of  Philadelphia schools this year. We could not have done any of it without the volunteer crew of 30 who showed up and staffed everything.  And most of all, we are grateful to the 2,597 students who took part in Dreamline this year and the 38 Dreamline teaching partners who supported them in bringing these dreams into the world to spark change for the better.

We look forwaard to next year’s program and wish everyone a wonderful summer!

WHAT’S NEXT

If you are Philly local look for Dreamline at the Second Street Festival coming up on August 4th. We’ll proudly display Dream Banners from students in the Fishtown area and invite participation in the coming year.

Doing Dreamline programming with students is a perfect way to establish relationships in the fall and get to know your students, as well as to set a positive community tone for the year ahead. Go to Program.Dreamline.org for more information and to get started.
